I created a self-portrait out of cardboard. I used a selfie that I took of me, cut out the features, and lined them up as close as they could be. Although it doesn't quite resemble me, I think it's about 50% or more accurate. To make my piece have texture I ripped the first layer of paper off the cardboard so that my hair would look sort of wavy. It wasn't what I was expecting but I am not upset with how it turned out. The feature that least resembles me is the nose. It looks big on my sculpture but in real life it isn't that big. Also, the eyebrows are kind of fuzzy and big because of all the sharpie work that I used. The lips on this self-portrait are huge but my actual lips are very small. I think the message I was trying to convey is that I am a serious person. My facial expression is very serious and that's how I am with mostly everything. School is important to me, soccer is also important to me, and my friends are extremely important to me. I take everything seriously even though I joke around sometimes. I think I could've done a better job on this but overall I happy with how it turned out.
